Cheesy Garlic Bread for Your Pasta Night Companion

If you don’t feel at warm and cuddly with the idea of popping goodness of warm cheesy garlic bread, then it’s all of it is going to change when you taste the awesomeness of this wonderfully flavorful bread.

It has all the makings of greatness with its tiny garlic bits that just melts in your mouth and all those gooey cheese.

The secret to this delightful bread is to use only real mayonnaise and none of those imitation mayonnaise whips or those fat-free varieties. You are going to need the good one for this recipe.

You should also use quality cheese. I prefer to use three types of cheese for my cheesy garlic bread. Cheddar, Monterey Jack, and Parmesan are the triple thread of all cheese for bread. It creates a medley of flavors that anyone can appreciate.

Also, to get those tingly and melt-in-your-mouth garlic bits, you need to invest in a good garlic press. I’m particularly fond of the Priority Chef Garlic Press and Mincer. The best part of this is that  “no more garlic fingers”!

Here’s what you are going to need for your Cheesy Garlic Bread:

  • 3 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3/4 cups Monterey Jack cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 whole green onions, minced
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 loaf french bread
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 cloves garlic


Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.

Combine the 3 kinds of cheese with mayonnaise and green onions in a small mixing bowl. Add a dash of salt and set aside.

Cut the bread in half and then into a small half and again into another smaller half. (You get the idea)

Add your 4 garlic cloves in the mincer with skins and all, and you’ll get finely minced garlic each time. Set aside.

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet and 1/4 of the minced garlic. Add 1 sliced loaf face down in the skillet and swirl it up to soak all the buttery and garlicky goodness. Allow the bread to toast in the skillet. Remember to remove the garlic once it gets too brown. You don’t want your bread to taste bitter from the burnt garlic.

Repeat this step with the remaining bread.

Once you’re done with all the bread slices, spread the cheese mixture on top of the bread slices and put in the oven  to bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is hot and bubbly.

Put out of the oven, slice and serve immediately.
